Mimoda Studio

Mimoda Jazzo was formed in 2010 by Jacob “Yasha” Michelson, working from his Mimoda Jazzo Studio in Los Angeles. Mimoda Jazzo is a multi-disciplinary physical theatre company that blends dance, movement, music, vocal performance, and more with a theatre base to create a dreamy and highly aesthetic stage presence. Mimoda Jazzo was initially established as a mime and dance company, but gradually moved away from mime and from traditional approaches to athletic dance performance. In time, the company developed a unique style that cannot easily be defined or categorized, and can best be described as “silent cinema in dance.”
