About Igor Portnoi

Graduated the State Academy for Theatrical Arts in Moscow, where I performed the leading roles in the numerous productions, including Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar. In 1992 I made my new home in Canada. My North American credits include performances in “The Phantom of The Opera” in Vancouver and the workshop of the musical “Ragtime” in Toronto, appearances on CBC and BBC. I can be heard on the recording of “Songs from the Musical Ragtime” and two solo albums “Russians on Broadway” and “Let’s get together”. In December of 2002 I have received a Green Card from US Government as recognition of my extraordinary ability. In 2008 I was invited to play Cogsworth in the Stage Entertainment production of the musical “Beauty and The Beast” in Moscow and participate in the first ever Disney cast recording of the musical in Russian. I played Don Alehandro in “Zorro”, Max Detweiler in “The Sounds of Music”, Garry in “Mamma Mia”, Ben Gunn and Blind Pew in “The Treasure Island”. In 2014 I have returned to play Cogsworth in “Beauty and the Beast”. In 2016 I've joined the cast of “Cinderella” as Lord Pinkelton. I have participated in “Disney in concert” in 2016 as one of eight Russian musical stars. Igor is a creator and director of the Theatre-Cabaret “Monmartr” in Moscow. I am a renowned Russian voice over artist featured in Disney’s “Lady and the Trump 2”, “Barney and his friends” and many others cartoons as well as the translator from English to Russian. I have performed with my shows as a headliner with many major cruise lines such as RCCL, NCL, Holland America, Celebrity, Seabourn, Chrystal, Radisson and Silver Seas. I have been invited to join the Stage Entertainment production of “Ghost the Musical” in Moscow for 2017-2018 season.
