The evil witch Gingema summons a hurricane that carries the girl Ellie and her faithful little dog Totoshka far from home. Coming to her senses in an unfamiliar land, Ellie learns from the good fairy Villina that only the mighty Goodwin, ruler of the Emerald City, can help her return home.
On her way to her cherished goal, Ellie meets unusual friends: the naive and kind Scarecrow, dreaming of a brain, the valiant but heartless Tin Woodman, and the cowardly Lion, who wants more than anything to become brave. Together they set off on an adventure-filled journey, where they must overcome many trials, defeat the evil witch Bastinda, help the inhabitants of the Magic Land — the Munchkins and the Winkies — and uncover the secret of Goodwin himself.
