About Our Cities Depend on Us. Reading, Discussion, Workshop Family Event in New York

On June 13 at 12:00 PM, we are delighted to welcome author and illustrator Victoria Tentler-Krylov!

Join us for a special event featuring a book reading, discussion, and a hands-on workshop led by the author herself.

Victoria Tentler-Krylov will present her beautifully illustrated book Our Cities Depend on Us: Rethinking Our Urban Areas to Fight Climate Change — an inspiring exploration of how cities around the world are adapting to environmental challenges and reimagining urban life for a sustainable future.

As rising sea levels, droughts, and extreme weather affect people, animals, and ecosystems worldwide, cities must evolve. But what do terms like “greenhouse effect” and “global warming” really mean? And how can cities become greener, more resilient, and better suited to the needs of their communities?

From Singapore’s living roofs to floating parks in the Netherlands, from the revitalization of the Chicago River to efforts to save Venice, this book introduces young readers to innovative solutions shaping the cities of tomorrow.

We warmly invite children ages 6–12 and their parents to take part in this inspiring and creative event.

Participation fee: $10 (all proceeds support our cozy community space).
Space is limited, so we recommend purchasing tickets in advance to secure your spot.
