В сентябре в «Белом Кролике» стартует новый совместный с Николаем Малининым цикл лекций «10 лекций — 10 ликов Нью-Йорка»!
Нью-Йорк — город, который невозможно рассмотреть с одной точки зрения. Он меняется в зависимости от того, кто на него смотрит: фотограф, художник, искусствовед, историк, исследователь или просто человек, который каждый день ходит по его улицам. В течение нескольких месяцев мы будем собирать этот огромный и загадочный город по кусочкам. Будут замечательные гости, совершенно разные темы, неожиданные развороты и, надеемся, много открытий даже для тех, кто давно считает себя знатоком Нью-Йорка, а еще, конечно, приятная атмосфера нашей кроличьей норы!
А открывает цикл Кирилл Симаков лекцией “Город, который снимают: Нью-Йорк в фотографии (и мой взгляд на него)”.
At the lecture, I will talk about how the visual language of architectural photography of New York was formed: from the strict documentary style of Berenice Abbott and the graphic "power" of Andreas Feininger to the later interpretations of the city by Todd Webb, George Tice, and Paul Strand. We will see how the perspective on architecture changed: from clear/explicit/sharp/laconic geometry to a more personal and atmospheric reading of the urban environment, including the combination of city architecture and graffiti by Martha Cooper. I will also show my own series shot in New York, and break down how these traditions continue to work today.
The ticket price is $40. Please keep in mind that our venue is quite small, and the number of seats is limited by its size. So purchase your tickets in advance to make sure you get a spot.
