About Евгений Сливкин. Поэтический вечер in New York
Поэт и филолог Евгений Сливкин родился в Ленинграде, учился в Литинституте, а после переезда в США защитил докторскую диссертацию по русской литературе и преподавал ее в Вирджинском политехническом университете. Его стихи были опубликованы во всех ведущих русскоязычных литературных журналах.
Евгений — автор восьми поэтических книг, самая недавняя, “Забинтованная лошадь,” была опубликована в 2026 году и является своего рода итогом, охватывая более полувека его творческого пути: стихи, написанные еще в советском Ленинграде, соседствуют с текстами американского периода, однако история в них не превращается в музейный экспонат, а всякий раз проживается заново.
Критики называют его “поэтом узнаваемой интонации и своего жеста” и отмечают, что поэт часто использует в своих текстах живую речь и необычные метафоры, а еще пишут, что “Сливкин — поэт философского склада, особенность его мышления близка древним грекам”.
