About Egor Karpenko, "The Newest Architecture of New York." Lecture from the series "10 Lectures – 10 Faces of New York in New York

On November 19, the fifth lecture of the "10 Lectures – 10 Faces of New York" series, curated by Nikolay Malinin, will take place. This time, Egor Karpenko will talk about the "Newest Architecture of New York"!

A lecture about the most changeable and transforming city, told through the structures of the last decade. Beautiful and awful buildings that together create the new face of the world capital. The main roles go to the Chase Bronze Giant and the crystal of the New Museum, the exquisite Magazzino gallery and the cozy Glenstone museum, the Black Depth of history at 130 Williams and the sparkling Jenga tower building, and many, many others. We will show what the City looks like through the eyes of an architect and appraise the new buildings without which New York is now impossible to imagine, and even harder to understand

Egor Karpenko is an architect in New York who works at Perkins & Will (formerly Architecture Plus Information), where he designs corporate headquarters and office spaces for leading companies, including Google, Andreessen Horowitz, Starr, and Vornado Realty Trust. He previously worked at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in Chicago, where he participated in the design of O’Hare Airport. He completed his master's degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (MArch II). Before that, he lived and worked in Moscow, where he graduated from MARCHI and worked at Tsimailo, Lyashenko & Partners, Apex, and Pravda.

The ticket price is $40. Don't forget that our hall is very small, and the number of seats is limited by its size. So buy your tickets in advance to be sure to get in.

About the series.

New York is a city that cannot be viewed from just one point of view. It changes depending on who is looking at it: a photographer, an artist, an art historian, a historian, a researcher, or simply a person who walks its streets every day. Over the next few months, we will put together this huge and mysterious city piece by piece. There will be wonderful guests, completely different topics, unexpected twists and, we hope, many discoveries even for those who have long considered themselves experts on New York, and, of course, the pleasant atmosphere of our rabbit hole!
